Yes, I love hot beverages. Especially times like this when the sun seems lost, outside is damp, and the weather is still chilly enough to sit by a fireplace. However, today I was just done sipping hot cappuccinos and teas. The craving was for something refreshing, something like a Taro Milk Bubble Tea.
I’m sure many of you have already had bubble teas so you know what I’m talking about.
Of course I wasn’t about to head down to Chinatown in this depressing weather and pay a whopping 4 bucks for this drink! Sometimes (most of the times), homemade is as good, or better for the fraction of the price.
Not to insult your intelligence, but the name ‘bubble’ refers to the black tapioca pearls in the drink.
There are variety of ways to make bubble tea, over ice or blended into a smoothie and either w/ water or milk as a base. Made mine w/ soy milk blended into a smoothie.
Ah- the softness of those cherry blossoms!
And of course you can’t enjoy bubble tea unless you have a proper straw size big enough to accommodate those bubbles.
So by the end of this post, I’ve done my fair share of gulping this drink like my momma never taught me manners. Once every so often, that is warranted!

I’ve been trying to work out whether you’re a filipino or a siamese…I think you’ve just told me, with this post! Thai food is my favourite and at my favourite café here in Melbourne, they serve wonderfully delicious and odd-combination drinks to have with the meal; sometimes it is a combination meal for one price which includes the drink. Drinks such as yours! I always enjoy trying new ones, just to see what they’re like. I’m always pleasantly surprised, ‘tho the straw they use is really not the right kind and stuff gets caught, often. My fave pic is the second one from the top.
