The weather is chilly and wet. It’s a hot cocoa + carrot cake kinda day.
Made some hot cocoa w/ frothy steamed soy milk. Loving the froth!
This carrot cake is out of this world! Super yummy and I LOVE the buttercream frosting.
I am guilty of such indulgence when Ms. Z takes her daily nap.

I could of used a cup of hot cocoa this morning! It’s cold in Denver and the Carrot Cake looks like it was a nice compliment to the cocoa!

On Sunday mornings, I visit my favorite local cafe and treat myself to an 8 oz whole milk latte and something from the bakery case – butter croissant, ginger scone, lemon cupcake, macarons… I try to mix it up. I don’t buy or bake any deserts for home; too much temptation!

i love carrot cake and haven’t had it in years! my guilty pleasure this week is pan dei morti.. a soft chocolate cookie spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg and with raisins, figs and almonds. they are only around at this time of year and I buy extra at my favourite bakery and put them in the freezer to enjoy them a bit longer!
