I’m currently under the weather and experiencing minor sore throat w/ some coughing. Last night was tough as the coughing woke me up throughout the entire night.
This morning, I was dying to have some ginger honey tea, a go to remedy for my sore throat symptoms. This is a super simple homemade tea that’s super delish and beneficial.
Steep several slices of fresh ginger + a tablespoon of honey (a proven natural sore throat soother) in a cup of hot water for about 15 mins. I also add a spoonful of ginger spread (similar to ginger jam). You may omit this spread if not available.

Great tea! I usually have peppermint tea with honey when I’m feeling under the weather.

This tea is a cold season favorite in our house. I actually am trying to grow ginger in my garden this year, I started them indoors and planted them outside. Your presentation is so pretty, it looks like something from a restaurant.

I drank ginger ale while I was pregnant to combat the nausea. Your pictures are simple and amazing. Our remedy here is tea tree oil on little cuts and boo-boos to prevent infection.

I have a wonderful remedy for coughing, I use it for my kids, me and now have many friends worldwide who use this too.
Get a red onion, chop it up, put contents in a sock, tie sock up. Breathe…. it opens up the airways. For kids, just place it in their bed when sleeping, the closer to the nose the better. Sure, it stinks the room up, but clears when the room is aired. Small tiny price to pay for a good nights sleep 🙂

Often find myself getting bad throats when traveling and speaking at conferences.
I use the old standby, boiling water, lemon slices, and honey because all are freely available in the hotel’s breakfast buffet during life on the road. Next time bad throat strikes at home though, I’ll try yours.
Just love ginger…. Fresh or in a jam!

I also drink ginger tea when I am under the weather. I recently learn to boil green onions with ginger in hot water for about 5 minutes in a cup. This works well for my cold and sore throat, too!
