When the weather gets cool, there’s nothing better to warm your soul than a hot bowl of hearty soup. My husband made some super chunky New England clam chowder a few nights ago and it was super DELISH (to the 10th power)!
Topped w/ some crispy bacon and herb butter croutons!
He makes the BEST clam chowder- creamy, chunky, and sooo flavorful! The bacon and crouton topping action was my doing, however.
Yes, I desperately need to go on a detox but sometimes you just gotta live a little. Detox can wait…for now.
What is your favorite soup to eat during the cooler nights? Please share!
‘Til next post, Kellie.
Oh yum… Why did you show this photo to all of us who actually have to watch our weight? It looks amazing!!!

i haven’t had clam chowder in at least 20 years! I love a good minestrone… but the secret my mom taught me is to sauté some pancetta in the olive oil, garlic and onion for a bit before adding the vegetables and water… it’s no longer vegetarian, but it’s so good. and a bit of hot pepper too sometimes!

Wow. I have always been a huge fan of NE clam chowder. Don’t do much dairy now, but this would be a good reason to deviate from that plan. Now I really want some. I am a huge soup fan all around, and REALLY enjoy a good butternut squash soup or some mulligatawny. Yum.

This looks yummy! My dad’s clam chowder is one of my favorites, but Tomato bisque or Lobster bisque would have to be my cool weather staples!

New England clam chowder is a staple in our home. I think that my husband could eat it three times a day! Not surprising seeing that he is from Boston. My favorite is classic Chicken and Dumplings. My dad used to make it and I’m carrying in the tradition.
