Gray Velvet Couches

I am OBSESSED w/ gray velvet couches. When my husband finally gets to it, he’s going to reupholster our Parisian sofa to a bluish velvet gray.

I bought this gorgeous provincial sofa on a whim while the hubs was out of town! The plan is to reupholster it gray and paint the wood base white. It’s going to be soo FAB!

And we already have our gray fabric picked out and ready to go! It’s been sitting in our house for over a yr now! I’m super excited about the outcome of our couch transformation. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. I think I may need to calm down.

Calm down is right! via

Anyhow, here are some of my favorite gray pieces from my pinterest board, Abode:

Do you noticed that most of the pieces are also tufted? What’s your thought on gray tufted sofas? Please share!

  1. Love all of these, just ordered 2 Broyhill couches with the nailheads and rolled arms in a dark chocolate brown velvet,it’s custom but not as expensive as you would think,I also thought about the gray velvet but would clash with my gray walls was the only reason I didn’t go that route

  2. My favorite is the first one, with the magenta accent pillows. Gorgeous. Grey is such an elegant color, I’ve been a little obsessed with it lately, too. (We’ve been picking out paint chips for our master bath and bedroom, and grey is going to tie the two together.)

  3. I adore tufted sofas. I found one at Ethan Allen that I’ve dubbed ‘the Napoleon sofa’ because it looks and feels like something that would be in a royal Frenchman’s home (like an oversized version of image 4). It’s ridiculously expensive, but one day I hope to buy it and reupholster it in a subtle cream and tawny brown zebra print fabric that I found. Grey looks rather classy as well 🙂

  4. I like the smooth (un-tufted) back with an over stuffed down seat cushion like the 3rd last photo. Although either way will be fabulous.
