My mother is a glamorous woman. When I was a child, I always thought that she was so beautiful…with her wavy hair, pinkish red lips, and multicolor eyeshadows. I’m sure I’ve rummaged through her makeup bags many times and wished that I would grow up in a hurry so I can wear all the fantastic colors.
This is the fun part of being a woman. Little pretty things make us happy. I used to can’t live without mascara but now I can’t live without a lip balm and some blush.
Some things never change, now at thirty-something (OMFG!!), I still dig through her beauty counter to see what new things she’s been up to. That actually just happened last week while I was home in FL.
Gathered her Chanel accessories, a gold diamond bracelet, and styled them on top of my sister’s stack of moleskine journals. Through these images, I wanted to capture the old glam look. Because to me, my mother is just that…
I can’t wait for my Zoey to create her own memories of going through my closet and trying on fabulous shoes, faux fur scarfs, and pretending like she’s putting on makeup (she kinda does that already!). All little girls should have the opportunity to be… precious little girls.
Happy Wednesday!

I would love to have a daughter to inherit my fashion loves but both my kids are boys unfortunately. And I’m DONE with kids! I’m so jealous of you (for having a daughter) and Zoe (for inheriting all your fabulous stuff one day)!!

Funny how every little girl is in awe of her mum’s make up collection and perfumes. I used to love sitting on my mum’s bed and watch her get ready, putting on her make up and dabbing some perfume on me after applying her own! What a trip down memory lane!
I’m feeling very nostaligic now! 🙂

When I was little I loved trying on my grandma’s makeup. She didn’t have any eyeshadows or mascara, but she sure loved a red lip and a spritz of classy perfume. I think that’s part of the reason why I love those products so much now 🙂

I cannot smell Chanel No 5 without the vivid image dancing through my head of my glamorous, well-dressed, well-coiffed and manicured grandma stealing the show in every room she walked into. Great post!

I used to love trying on my mothers clothes, heels and makeup! There is something very exciting about pretending to be an adult when you are a kid (not so exciting actually being an adult haha).
