Ombre Spring French Mani

Here’s a mani look that you can rock confidently this Spring. Even if you are not one who can polish nails perfectly, no one will know. Your magic weapon is scotch tape but hey, I won’t tell if you won’t!

The look is ombre- it’s basically wearing the same hues from light to dark. I added a gold sparkly nail in the mix for fun. The ‘french look’ here is a tad thicker than usual. I like that the color covers half of the nail so that it’ll pop more. Also, don’t worry about making the lines perfect. We like that it looks organic!

I always opt for a quick dry top coat because I don’t have the time or patience to wait for my nails to dry. Unfortunately, life doesn’t wait for your nails to dry either. My favorite of all times is In a New York Minute from NYC. It’s $1.99 from CVS. I love that it delivers both the high gloss shine and the quick drying action. Also, it’s soooo inexpensive.

The colors are (from pinky to thumb) Mrs. Tony Montana, Biscuits, Pony, Stun, and Bikini Coral by Floss Gloss. Would you give this look/technique a try?

Also, I will be adding this mani look to my Pinterest board, Nails. If you like what you see, please pin away!

  2. Really cute and agree with Andreacfrt that you may have just started a trend – Whohoo I’m in the know!
I love your tape Idea, I use the “french manicure” tape that they sell in stores – but have only used it for white. This option is less expensive (baring the ombre colors) but like the regular scotch tape use! Plus I’m a big fan of the NYC line – some good stuff for low $.

  3. I love it! My glitter nail polish just started chipping off today, so maybe I’ll replace it with this! I have a lot of blues in my stash – I think a blue ombre french mani sounds amazing! Thanks for the idea! 🙂
