Zoey’s Secret Garden Birthday Dinner Party (Part 1)

Zoey’s birthday was yesterday.  Yep, she just turned FOUR. It’s a scary scary thought. As much as I don’t want her to grow up (ever); I’m very excited for what the future holds for my little lady. Will she travel to Paris and learn French? Will she meet the man of her dreams at a cafe shop on a romantic rainy Autumn morning? Will she be a lover of an all-white space just like her mommy? It’s bittersweet realizing that Zoey is growing up so fast. I have many hopes for her. I hope that she will grow up to be wise, confident, and compassionate.

We celebrated Zoey’s birthday a few days early since her cousins and aunts were in town. Her birthday dinner was at this little hidden cobblestone alleyway at a Bistro near our home. Walk a tad too fast and you might just miss it. This gem of a place was perfect for Zoey’s ‘Secret Garden’ summer birthday dinner party. It was an intimate setting with just the closest family members. Because when it all comes down to it, family matters most.

The setting was perfect although it was a windy night so we couldn’t light the candles.

Zoey’s birthday cake was very simple.  It was an exposed strawberry shortcake. We added white and pink spray roses along with some greenery and baby’s breath to make it oh so dreamy.

The tablescape was simple as well with a mixed of silk peonies, sage stems and fresh white + pink spray roses.

Thanks Shari’s Berries for the cutest Secret Garden cookies. Zoey and Axel devoured them quick!

  1. Your photography is as beautiful as ever! It’s been a while since I’ve had an opportunity to browse through my followers, so I was very anxious to see how much your children had grown. You have a very lovely family! Thanks for sharing your life with us…..

  2. Beautiful pics. Four year olds are the best. I miss mine being that age, but the grandkids are coming soon. Teaching your little one about graceful living is very important and special. Blessings to you and your family.
