Caramel candy apple season is here! I love this sweet fall indulgence but let’s be real, it’s so hard to eat. Sticky, icky, and often way too big to finish in one sitting. The kids love this treat too but every time Axel eats something messy, I literally go into panic mode. Everything that gets onto his hands inevitably ends up in his hair. For some reason, this child has a hair obsession. He loves to rub it, massage it, caress it every single minute of the day- no matter what he’s doing.
I’ve come up with a great solution that would eliminate the messiness and waste commonly associated with eating a typical candy apple. These adorable and oh so yummy Candy Apple Lollipops are perfect without sacrificing the taste.
Since I’m already making caramel candy apple lollipops I might as well make the chocolate sprinkle variation. After all, I think my kids would enjoy these much more. Secretly, the caramel apple ones are mine. All mine!
The steps are pretty simple. 1. Using a melon baller, scoop out the apple flesh 2. insert lollipop sticks into the apple balls (I snipped the sticks in half) 3. dip the apple lollipops into the melted chocolate/caramel and cover with sprinkles/peanuts. 4. allow to rest on wax paper and refrigerate for about 30-40 mins.
I used a combination of granny smith and fuji apples.
I can’t wait to surprise the kiddos with these! It’s going to be their weekend surprise. Actually, they get a ‘surprise’ every single day of their lives.
Hope you’ll give these a try. Make them with your kids, they’ll enjoy licking the leftover melted chocolate and caramel syrup. Just saying…
In Instagram news- 1. #tgif, 2. what I wore to a dinner date with the gals 3. wrapping up work before mommy duty begins.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Brilliant!!!! As a “responsible” adult, I slice the apples and drizzle caramel ice cream topping over and call it ‘done’ but the little ones this absolutely doesn’t “cut it”!!! Your solution is so perfect!!! Wish I would have come up with it, hmmm, about 40+ years ago. I had a young one who also had such maneuvers and his hair was in a state of perpetual “concrete”…….LOL! Just HAVE to share this one……………….
