Sometimes you just need to get away from the world and its bustling way of life. Creating your own retreat or hiding place where you can be alone to reflect, sip tea, or browse those catalogs that’s been collecting dust can be very therapeutic.
Invite your imaginary friend or reserve another space for someone you wish could be there. For me, I wished it was one of my sisters- all of whom live far far away…
I always enjoy our stories down memory lane reminiscing about our childhood.
My bedroom is definitely my retreat for many reasons. There are times when it’s a noisy retreat experience- with the kiddos and hubs watching holiday movies. And other times, it’s just me.
You don’t have to live in a palace to find that perfect nook of sanctuary. I find that sitting by a window, any window is good enough. We live in the city where our neighbors are just right next door (literally), in front and in the back with little living space in between. People watching is very interesting and like in Paris, so so stylish.
As of late, I’ve been experimenting with my tea. Adding cinnamon sticks to them gives that spicy holiday action.
Where do you go for that perfect hideaway? Would love to hear…
