This past weekend, we went to a Christmas tree farm to get a tree for the kids’ bedroom. This is a holiday tradition that we just started last year for our little family. It’s fun for the kids and we also use the opportunity to take family holiday pictures. What better holiday backdrop than at a Christmas tree farm?!
I like decorating the our different rooms to capture the holiday spirit. Unlike the kids’ bedroom, we don’t have a Christmas tree. Instead, we have a variety of Frasier fir scented candles and diffusers by Thymes sprinkled around the space. To really tie in the theme, I’ve also added fresh Frasier fir clippings to areas like the mirror above our fireplace mantel.
Here’s a tiny peek inside my holiday bedroom. Perhaps, it’ll give you some ideas to decorate yours…
Since our fireplace doesn’t actually work, I placed birchwood logs in the firebox along with strings of white lights to give it that romantic ‘fire’ feel. It’s perfect- minimal and classy and really romantic when the room is dark.
Also, if you are loving the gold gilded vases— these are actually DIY vases that I’ve made a while back. See the easy tutorial HERE.
Visit Thymes for all your very own collection of Frasier fir candles or find one that’s perfect for your home this holiday!
