Green Yumminess!

Despite the persistent cold winter weather still hovering over us in the Northeast, I refuse to be a victim of the winter blues. Mentally, I’m prepared for two very exciting upcoming events: the arrival of our baby boy and SPRING! Both symbolize new life and beginnings.

Although I can’t exactly pinpoint when the bebe is arriving (he’s a bit stubborn, it appears), I can say that I’ve started what will be a Spring & Summer ritual- making healthy smoothies. I’m not the healthiest person by any stretch of the imagination but I am on a mission to live a healthier lifestyle. This may include yoga on the regular (after delivery) and a daily dose of green smoothies. I think that’s a fair start. And quite honestly, I’m just tired of being pregnant and BIG!

As of late, I’ve been mildly obsessed with kale smoothies and have not gone a day w/o them. What I throw into the Vitamix varies daily (depending on what’s in the fridge) but one thing remains constant- KALE.

Kale with pineapple- check. Kale with bananas- check. Kale with pears- check. check.

Today, I also enjoyed my kale smoothie with an uber quick and healthy snack, edamame. Someone’s on a mission!

GREENGREEN2Zoey also has her own favorite smoothie concoction- strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and soy milk. And b/c the child will NEVER eat anything green, I’ll also sneak in a few pieces of kale leaves. Shhh!! She’ll never know…

Have a great Wednesday!

Current Boston weather- flurries, seriously!

  1. Kale with pineapple, blueberries, almond butter, and almond milk is my favorite smoothie right now. Thanks for sharing another new kale smoothie combination! Hope the bebe makes his appearance soon! 🙂

  2. Smart mommy!! I have to sneak green in my husbands as well.

Ya might wanna switch up the soy milk with almond or coconut milk. Some soy products are isolated soy — not good– Whole soy like the edaname – fine 🙂
