I love city life. The bustling energy is invigorating and provides a great source of inspiration and creativity. The daily hustle and tight square footage may be a little overwhelming, stressful or even claustrophobic to some, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I thrive on everything city living has to offer.

Boston has a sleuth of ‘Parisian’ cafes which are essential to both social and work life. There’s nothing more uplifting than sitting in a busy cafe in heart of the city- absorbing its beat. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t lounge in cozy cafes for hours on end people watching. Life nowadays is too hectic for that, but wouldn’t that be such a pleasure?

I recently joined J.Jill as full-time Freelance Art Director. It has been a big change from working remotely for the last year or so. Each morning we kiss the kids goodbye promptly at 7:30am and then the family reconvenes by 6pm. It’s a long day for everyone but I love the fact that the kids have their own agendas and important roles to play each day.

Sometimes, I wonder how other working moms handle it all. Work, kids, dinner- there’s a lot of moving parts! Some days, it’s smooth sailing and I get pretty proud.  Many days, it’s a sh*t show. I’ve made my life a little easier by committing to housekeeping twice a month. Honestly, I don’t want to spend my little time off cleaning and scrubbing the house. I rather have that time snuggling in bed with the kids.

A little glimpse into my daily life as a city mom…

The great thing about my job is that I don’t bring work home. Once I leave the office, I leave. This is new to me. In the past, I’ve always continued to work around the clock so it has been a nice transition.

On a fashion note, I love adding accessories as the final touch to any outfit. This ensemble is something I would wear to the office. There’s always some sort of heel action and the Gucci tote carries my life so it comes with me every single day.
