Can making your own headboards be easier than this? It seems like of all these headboards were made from unfinished wood. The imperfections make them OH SO PERFECT!
Here are some of my favorites, from my pinterest board, Abode.
Paint positive, inspiring words on your headboard. via
Create a fence like effect with slabs of wood. via
Paint vertical stripes (those actually look like bamboo).

Clever! I love the look of wood, and having raw wood as a backdrop for a fancy bedroom is a striking contrast. Not fond of the doors, but I really like the picket fence looking one.

Nope, I don’t hink I could sleep well with old wood as a headboard. All the pictures look good, but in the last one I’d be worried about sleeping next to old paint. Also, in California we have huge problems with termites. I’d be scared of what could be living inside those boards.

These are incredible. My favorite are the ones that have words and the door. So I’d have to get wooden doors and paint words on them!

I would! There are many slats of wood I see by dumpsters…hmm could use for my guest suite. My yesterday’s post Marilyn vs Murphy shows our head board, I had to wrap ribbon around it when it was damaged during our delivery! Check it out!

Oh wow… LOVE that idea!!! I was trying to think of ideas for a new headboard… I was just going to make one to match my ikea furniture (like I’m making doors and panels for my built in wardrobes to match the ikea furniture)… but i could go a contrasting colour recycled timber (probably some pine).
Just lucky I can get my hands on wood so easily 😉
