Fig, Bacon, and Olive Tart

Holidays are all about creating memories with the family. Most of those memories are food-related. For me, I always remember going to the grocery store with my youngest sister every Thanksgiving eve to get loads of ingredients for the big day. On Thanksgiving, we would spend most of the day in the kitchen cooking and baking.

I’m excited about creating traditions and building holiday memories with my own little family. Zoey and Axel don’t know it yet but I’ve got a little surprise for them! We are going to make a little gingerbread village to be displayed in our new kitchen. I’ll probably keep them busy with the gingerbread activity while the hubs and I cook Thanksgiving dinner.

Today I’m sharing an easy and oh-so delicious recipe that can be easily incorporated into any holiday menu. I’m not great at baking but making tarts using puff pastry is something I can handle. This Fig, Bacon, & Olive Tart combines sweet and salty flavors perfectly. It has that salted caramel type of effect.

The olives used here are kalamata olives by Mezzetta. The steps are pretty simple as seen below. The only prep that I did beforehand was rendering the bacon bits with some chunky chopped shallots.
