I don’t know what’s happening with me but lately, I’ve been looking at life a whole lot differently. I’m more in tuned with the journey rather than the trophy. I’m going through some professional transitions right now and have been actively networking a lot– a process that I’m not that great at (or so I thought) and also makes me very uncomfortable. The end goal is simple yet so difficult to obtain.

But rather than focusing on the prize (which we naturally tend to do), I’m trying to be more aware of the journey. I’m surprised at what I’ve learned so far about networking. This experience has opened my eyes to the power of human connection. Forget about meeting the ‘President of X’, when it all comes down to it- that person is just another soul like you and me. I’ve met so many wonderful talented people whom I’ve connected so well with. People who are helpful, encouraging, positive and so much more.

From what I’ve learned, when you open yourself up to the universe, it opens up to you. Think positive and be ready to receive all the greatness- usually in forms that are unexpected. I’m far from my end goal but I’m beginning to realize the journey might be the star of it all.
