Focus on the Journey

I don’t know what’s happening with me but lately, I’ve been looking at life a whole lot differently. I’m more in tuned with the journey rather than the trophy. I’m going through some professional transitions right now and have been actively networking a lot– a process that I’m not that great at (or so I thought) and also makes me very uncomfortable. The end goal is simple yet so difficult to obtain.

But rather than focusing on the prize (which we naturally tend to do), I’m trying to be more aware of the journey. I’m surprised at what I’ve learned so far about networking. This experience has opened my eyes to the power of human connection. Forget about meeting the ‘President of X’, when it all comes down to it- that person is just another soul like you and me. I’ve met so many wonderful talented people whom I’ve connected so well with. People who are helpful, encouraging, positive and so much more.

Speaking of the journey, WENTE Vineyards recently launched an initiative “For the Love of the Journey,” which serves as a way of sharing their story and what they believe in. The pioneering history, rich heritage and family legacy serves as the foundation of the brand today. But more importantly, it’s about the common thread that is weaved through from generation to generation.

I invite you to try WENTE wine, where the journey is as important as the process of wine making.

“The Wente family’s story begins in 1883, when German immigrant, C.H. Wente immigrated to America with the dream of creating a better life. After studying winemaking under Charles Krug in Napa Valley, he moved to Livermore with his wife to pursue his new career. Five generations later Wente is still the oldest continuously-operated, family-owned winery in the country. Their wines are 100% estate grown and sustainably farmed in the Livermore Valley, San Francisco Bay and Arroyo Secco. The Wente Family is proud to be recognized as “California’s First Family of Chardonnay.”

On a side note, these gorgeous hydrangeas were freshly picked from our little backyard garden. They’re sitting pretty on our dining room table.

I paired my WENTE Riva Ranch Chardonnay with a simple but delicious grilled chicken salad. Visit WENTE site to learn more!

From what I’ve learned, when you open yourself up to the universe, it opens up to you. Think positive and be ready to receive all the greatness- usually in forms that are unexpected. I’m far from my end goal but I’m beginning to realize the journey might be the star of it all.

Have a wonderful Monday!

  1. Thank you for the uplifting post, you give such motivational advice. I recently graduated college and I have big goals and dreams that I want to reach and it gets discouraging at times when I don’t seem to be reaching my goals. But I may need to take a step back and ride along this journey towards my goals and see things in a different light. Thanks again for this post ❤

Don’t forget, there are many people who are in your shoes and riding the same journey as well. We’ll make it through right? I can’t wait to hear about your success later on! Keep me posted!! Stay positive and bright. xo, Kellie

  2. Yes! This is one of my fav posts! We are driving up to Sonoma near Napa soon and I will keep my eyes open for that winery! That story sounds familiar, like there is a book or a movie about the family? Love the pics.

Enjoy the process!!!! Even if its a struggle! Xoxo
