This past week has been draining to say the least. We cancelled our trip to Disney and my brother’s wedding (!) because Axel caught a nasty bug the very day before we had to fly. Perhaps more on that later…
I haven’t spent that much time with Zoey so when it was just me and her yesterday, I thought it would be fun (& yummy) for her to make some chocolate dipped spoons. Zoey has a serious sweet tooth. Secretly, it was more for me because I needed something to lift my spirits. Chocolate just makes everything better and life a little sweeter.
We made five different flavors. They are the perfect additions to hot chocolate. Just a few swirls in your drink to instantly add any flavor of choice.
Zoey’s killing these chocolate spoons like they’re lollipops!
A note on melting chocolate: Melting chocolate with a double boiler intimidates me so I used the microwave method. Ever since I’ve learned how to do it this way; I have no fear. I can make chocolate dipped ANYTHING! Call me the chocolate-melting maven. I start with putting half a cup of chocolate chunks in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 40 secs. Take out and stir. Heat for another 20 secs. Take out & stir again. Repeat the process until the chocolate has fully melted. It took me about 4 cycles of heating. This may vary depending on your microwave. Be careful to not overheat the chocolate otherwise it will become lumpy and grainy. It this case, add oil or butter to fix the consistency.
Zoey’s favorite flavors are the m&m’s and colorful sprinkles. On a side note, this child just steals my heart…
On my way home from staying at the hospital for nearly 24hrs straight, I was greeted with the latest Hermes catalog. It couldn’t have come at a better time. Combine sipping hot chocolate and skimming through the catalog- it was exactly what I needed for my me-time.
Hope you’ve enjoyed these spoons! They also make cute party favors or great little gifts (in this case use fancy plastic spoons and individually wrap them).
Gorgeous photos and that chocolate dipped spoon ♥♥♥ can I grab them from the screen while having my hot chocolate please. 🙂
