I think all too often baby’s breath takes the back seat. Always playing the supporting role and never has the opportunity to shine as the lead. Well, let’s change that NOW because there’s no reason why this breathtaking, gorgeous, innocent-exuding bloom should be anything but the focal point.
If you have no idea how to make a cake look its best, you’re not the only one. I’m not a baker or a cake decorator but give me a few players and I’ll whip something together. And by a ‘few players’ I mean an angel food cake (spongy and light,so yum!), berries, powder sugar, and of course baby’s breath. This look was actually inspired by all the ‘naked’ cakes that I’ve been obsessing over. See my recent Naked Cake post HERE.
Creating this look is easy. Place an angel food cake as center piece, top with berries, sprinkle with powder sugar, and finish off by adding baby’s breath all around the cake. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
Another way to decorate with baby’s breath is to incorporate them into a DIY bunting. For all the glorious details on how I made this pretty summery garland using Japanese paper, please see my feature on Brit & Co. HERE.
You can also add any other flowers of choice to your bunting.
Next time you see a bunch of baby’s breath, pleaseeee give it some respect.
Happy Friday!

I completely agreed with you. I love baby’s breath. So much so that when I got married my bridesmaids bouquets where made of them and them alone. It was gorgeous! Even if I say so myself 🙂
