My love for tea stems from witnessing my parents drink tea every single day of their life. The tea sipping experience itself is somewhat soothing especially with the warmth of the tea mug in your hands. Depending on what flavor of tea you enjoy, the aroma could take it to the next level. One of my most favorite flavors of all time is the Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose by Compassion Tea. Now, imagine how that one smells! A whiff of pure heaven.
This past weekend, I woke up feeling a bit under the weather. My first instinct was to make myself a cup of tea so I came up with this tea concoction that was absolutely delish. Not that I ran out of tea, you’ll see my tea collection below stored in our diy tea space. I was craving for something different and a little bit more refreshing.
This was when the Cinnamon Peppermint Citrus Tea was born.
Doesn’t that look amazing? It tasted so yummy. I tend to like my tea on the sweeter side so sugar in the raw or just plain brown baking sugar does the trick.
Below is the diy tea space in our dining room. My hubs took the upper half of an old brown hutch and transformed it into a tea cabinet. We hung it above the radiator which was perfect for that space.
Preparing the Cinnamon Peppermint Citrus tea was simple. Add peppermint sprigs, one cinnamon stick, a wedge of citrus (I used grapefruit) and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar in hot water. Let steep for about 5 mins. Enjoy gracefully (like the proper English ladies).
I absolutely love this diy chalkboard that we made for the dining room. It’s ideal for the space because I can change the message based on my mood, the occasion, the menu or for whatever reason. To see how we made this chalkboard, please click HERE.
Our tea cabinet consists of all kinds of tea brands including- Laduree, Angelina, Compassion Tea Company, Tea Forte, MIYU Beauty, English Tea Shop, Kusmi, Fortum & Mason, TAZO and a whole bunch of tins by Teavana.
If you haven’t tried dark chocolate with your tea, you must! Especially the ones sprinkled with sea salt. Oh my…
Hope you’ve enjoyed this little tea post!

Have a wonderful Monday!
I LOVE your posts. The aesthetics are amazing and I know your life isn’t perfect, but the story of your life and the story of your meals and treats transport me elsewhere. I hope that on most days your life is a dream.

Thanks Jasmine. Life is what you make of it. I’ve learned to shift focus- to emphasize on the positive things instead of dwelling on the negative. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason even though sometimes it’s hard to understand why. I’m glad my blog transports you to somewhere dreamy. My vision was always to create a space that’s positive, inspiring and creative. Live the life you want!
