Although there is no major work left to be done in our home office makeover, I’m still trying to make final decorations (organization) tweaks here and there. The most recent one was adding two shelves to a blank wall to the left of my desk. Initially, an art gallery of our family pictures first came to mind, but eventually I opted for more organizing spaces.
Below is how the office looked without the shelves. I decided to use the lucite coffee table in the kids’ room instead. They are turning it into their activity table which is perfect because it doesn’t stain and the cleanup is a breeze. Glue? Markers? Stickers? No problem!
The biggest thing for me was to get all the knickknacks off of my desk. They look perfectly arranged at first but eventually turns into a hot mess!
Now, I have a home for all my little things. The best part? The kiddos can’t reach them! They stay exactly how I arrange them – always. Grinning from ear to ear.

All the mini-luxuries in life…
Savory every last minute of these peonies and a peek at Zoey’s artwork behind it. If you are loving the gold gilded look on this vase, it’s a DIY that I did. See all the creative details in this post HERE.
And if you’re wondering, I got these simple minimalistic wall shelves from IKEA. The brackets were also from IKEA (here). They came in black and I spray painted them white.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this little home makeover post…

I’m not sure what they are exactly, but I love what looks like note cards! Especially the ones that says Vintage Text Messages! It’s been a while, but I used to write letters. Those note cards would be perfect for putting a smile on!

Yes, they are notecards by http://elumdesigns.com/! I know, there’s not too much of those nowadays that everything is so electronic. 😦
Have a great July 4th!

I’ve found that some easy shelves really transform a space. They give you a place to put things that are pretty/fun but don’t always have to be so practical like the things on your desk or dresser.
